MySafe:LA Expands Partnerships

MySafe:LA, the Los Angeles fire and life safety unit of The Safe Community Project is expanding its host of partners and educational outreach. New Agreements with Children’s Burn Foundation, California Science Center, and the Earthquake Country Alliance are several of the highlighted engagements.

We’re enthused to be growing our relationships as we have,” Executive Officer David Barrett stated. “The creation of a permanent exhibit on fire and burn safety at the California Science Center is so important for the community,” Working in collaboration with Children’s Burn Foundation and the California Science Center, the new interactive exhibit, once completed will see as many as 500,000 students go through it each year.

MySafe:LA instructors teach earthquake preparedness and survival to students across Los Angeles, and MySafe:California will extend that reach once it is launched later in 2014. “Joining the speaker’s bureau for the Earthquake Country Alliance is important for our organization,” said Todd Leitz, Public Information Officer for MySafe:LA. “We’re talking about preparedness and survival, and the ECA has developed some terrific speaking points. We just apply them to our educational method and then the message is consistent.”

The Safe Community Project will add additional partners as it works to expand its reach with MySafe:California. The Safe Community Project is a California Non-Profit Public Benefit Corporation.
